California State University, Northridge
California State University (CSUN) is a public university in California found in the Northridge region of LA. The establishment of this university began in 1952 when it was realized that the California State University (formerly known as Los Angeles State College) needed a satellite campus in Baldwin Hills.
In a meeting held in Wilshire Boulevard at the Brown Derby restaurant, it was agreed that the venue of the satellite campus to be moved to Northridge. The groundbreaking of the campus occurred in 1956. In attendance were Howard McDonald, the president of Los Angeles State College, and Goodwin Knight, who was the Governor of California.
